What is Florida Water?
Florida Water is a cologne with a light, fresh scent based on citrus and flowers. The name does not refer to the U.S. state, but to the Spanish term "Tierra de las Flores," which Juan Ponce de León used to describe the flower-filled region he arrived at while searching for the Fountain of Youth. The citrus scent and high alcohol content make the water suitable as a cleansing agent in spiritual contexts.
In Peru, Florida Water holds a special status. It has been used there for generations in shamanic traditions for limpias (energetic cleansings), as an offering in rituals, and as protection against negative energy. How do you use Florida Water?
