LSA Seeds
LSA (lysergic acid amide) is a naturally occurring psychedelic alkaloid found in the seeds of various plants. The best-known sources are Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argyreia nervosa), Morning Glory (Ipomoea purpurea and related species), and Ololiuhqui (Rivea corymbosa). Chemically, LSA is related to LSD but has its own unique profile: it takes longer to kick in, lasts longer, and causes more physical side effects than synthetic lysergides. The seeds are suitable for consumption and for growing as ornamental plants. Suitable only for individuals 18 years of age and older.

Types of LSA seeds in our selection
The LSA seed selection at Dutch-Smart includes both the most common varieties and lesser-known types.
Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argyreia nervosa) is the most potent LSA source in the assortment. The seeds contain a relatively high concentration of LSA and ergine alkaloids. Available in Hawaii and Madagascar varieties, with 10 grams and 10 seeds, respectively. The Madagascar variety is known for having a slightly different alkaloid profile than the Hawaii variety.
Morning Glory (Ipomoea purpurea and relatives) contains LSA in the seeds, but in lower concentrations than Hawaiian Baby Woodrose. Significantly more seeds are needed to achieve a comparable effect. Available in several varieties: Tricolor Heavenly Blue, Pearly Gates, and Flying Saucers, each in 10-gram packages. All three are also cultivated as ornamental plants due to their colorful trumpet-shaped flowers.
Ololiuhqui (Rivea corymbosa) is one of the oldest ritual psychedelics from Mesoamerica, used by the Aztecs, among others. The seeds contain the same LSA alkaloids as Morning Glory but in a different ratio. Available in packs of 20 seeds.
Happy Caps’ Trip-E capsules contain a standardized combination of Hawaiian Baby Woodrose extract and supporting herbs. This offers greater dosing convenience than raw seeds, with less risk of variation in potency per seed.
Active Ingredients and Effects
The psychoactive effects of LSA seeds stem from lysergic acid amide (LSA) and related ergine alkaloids. LSA binds to serotonin receptors, particularly the 5-HT2A receptor, which is responsible for the psychedelic effect. The effects are similar to but milder than those of LSD, with a greater emphasis on physical effects: nausea, sedation, and vasoconstriction are reported more frequently than with synthetic lysergides. Users report visual distortions, changes in the perception of time, and introspective experiences. The trip typically lasts 6 to 10 hours.
Dosage by species
LSA concentration varies significantly by strain, so dosages are not interchangeable.
Hawaiian Baby Woodrose: 3 to 5 seeds for a mild to moderate experience. 6 to 10 seeds for a stronger trip. More than 10 seeds greatly increases the risk of side effects without proportionally stronger psychedelic effects. Always start with 2 to 3 seeds on your first use.
Morning Glory: Due to the lower LSA concentration, 50 to 100 seeds are needed for a mild effect, and 200 to 300 seeds for a stronger experience. The high number of seeds also increases the risk of nausea due to other plant compounds.
Ololiuhqui: Similar to Morning Glory in potency. Typical dosages range from 50 to 100 seeds for a mild effect.
Preparation and Administration
The traditional preparation method involves grinding the seeds and soaking them in cold water for 30 to 60 minutes, after which the liquid is drunk and the fibrous residue is discarded. This reduces the risk of nausea compared to taking ground seeds directly. Take LSA seeds preferably on an empty stomach: not eating for 4 to 6 hours beforehand ensures faster absorption and reduces stomach discomfort. The effects begin after 45 to 90 minutes and peak after 2 to 4 hours.
Harm reduction
LSA seeds are potent psychedelics with a long-lasting effect profile. Never combine them with alcohol, MAO inhibitors, lithium, or other psychoactive substances, as this increases the risk of serious side effects. Do not operate vehicles or engage in risky activities while under the influence. Nausea at the start of the trip is a commonly reported effect, particularly with higher doses of Morning Glory. Ensure a safe environment and, preferably, a sober trip sitter when taking higher doses. LSA seeds are not suitable for individuals with psychosis, schizophrenia, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy, or those under the age of 18. Consult a doctor if you are taking medication.
Growing LSA Seeds
Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, Morning Glory, and Ololiuhqui can also be grown as ornamental plants. Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours before sowing to increase germination rates. Plant them in a sunny location with plenty of space, as Morning Glory plants grow quickly and branch widely. Regular watering is important, especially during the germination phase. Morning Glory blooms with striking, colorful trumpet-shaped flowers and produces new seeds after flowering. Most varieties grow well in a Dutch outdoor climate during the summer months. Frequently Asked Questions About LSA Seeds
What is the difference between Hawaiian Baby Woodrose and Morning Glory?
Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argyreia nervosa) contains a higher concentration of LSA per seed than Morning Glory. To achieve a comparable effect, you need significantly more Morning Glory seeds. Hawaiian Baby Woodrose has a higher likelihood of causing vasoconstriction as a side effect. Due to the large number of seeds required, Morning Glory more often causes nausea as a side effect.
How do I reduce nausea when using LSA seeds?
Grind the seeds finely and soak them in cold water for 30 to 60 minutes. Discard the fibrous residue and drink only the liquid. Take the seeds on an empty stomach. Ginger or peppermint tea before consumption can further reduce nausea. Lower doses are generally associated with less nausea.
Are LSA seeds legal in the Netherlands?
LSA is not on the Dutch opium list. The seeds of Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, Morning Glory, and Ololiuhqui are legal to possess and purchase in the Netherlands. Dutch-Smart sells these seeds as botanical products under the supervision of the NVWA.
Can I combine LSA seeds with other smart shop products?
Combinations with other psychoactive substances, including cannabis, kratom, or magic mushrooms, are strongly discouraged. LSA seeds should also not be combined with MAO inhibitors (such as certain antidepressants), lithium, or blood thinners. If in doubt, consult a doctor.
