What are kratom extracts?

Kratom originates from Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. The leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa plant have been consumed for centuries, traditionally by chewing them. In addition to standard kratom powder made from ground leaves, concentrated extract forms are available in which the active alkaloids are concentrated from the leaf material.

In the production of a kratom extract, a large quantity of leaf material is boiled and reduced to a smaller, concentrated mass. A 20X extract contains the alkaloids from 20 kilograms of leaves per kilogram of extract. A 50X extract is correspondingly much stronger than the standard powder. Extract vs. kratom powder: when to use which?

Kratom powder made from ground leaves is the standard form and suitable for daily use by experienced kratom users. The dosage is easy to control and the effects are predictable. Extracts are more potent per gram, easier to use, and convenient if you’re on the go or want to avoid the bitter taste of powder. Dosage of kratom extracts

The dosage of a kratom extract is significantly lower than that of kratom powder. As a general guideline: with a 20X extract, 0.1 grams is roughly equivalent to the effect of 2 grams of powder. With a 50X extract, 0.1 grams is equivalent to approximately 5 grams of powder. Always start with a small amount, especially with an unfamiliar product or a new brand.
