Tissue paper and filter tips

Anyone who smokes rolling tobacco or weed needs it: rolling paper or long rolling paper. An essential part of every “joint.” Some types of rolling paper also have a filter tip at the end. These work the same way as a cigarette filter. But what types of rolling paper are there, and which one do you need? And which filter tip is best suited to your smoking habits?

The Differences in Rolling Papers

Rolling papers differ most from one another in terms of material. Some brands pride themselves on using only natural materials, such as real hemp and gum arabic. Other rolling papers are made from wood or paper. Which one is best is really up to you. What do you prefer when it comes to rolling and smoking?

Rolling papers can also vary in size. There are, of course, the long rolling papers, but there are also rolling papers on a roll. You can unroll this rolling paper just like you would aluminum foil. Would you rather roll a big joint with more weed, or a little less than usual? Then rolling paper on a roll is the perfect solution.

With or without a filter?

People smoke their joints in different ways. Some use a filter, others don’t. In general, a filter makes the effects of the weed less noticeable. So you can smoke more calmly and get going more slowly. That’s nice if you want to enjoy the joint more, but it’s actually inconvenient if you want to feel the effects quickly. Of course, there are all kinds of ways to make your own filter. For example, tear off the top of a cigarette, or roll a bit of tobacco into a piece of cardboard. If you really have time to spare, you can remove the tobacco from a regular cigarette and then fill the cigarette with your weed. It will then look like you’re smoking a regular cigarette. The downside is that it takes a lot of time to make a small joint. Fortunately, there’s a simple alternative: buy rolling paper with a filter. There’s plenty to choose from.

Buy filter tips

Filter tips are used in joints and cigarettes to make them sturdier and to filter the smoke. This way, you don’t get any grit or other debris from the tobacco in your mouth. Some types of rolling paper come with filter tips already attached, but usually you have to buy them separately. You can choose from different lengths and thicknesses, each offering a unique smoking experience. Discover for yourself which filter tip you like best!

Why use a ‘tip’?

You might be wondering why people use filter tips. Can’t you just smoke with rolling paper alone? That’s absolutely true, but filter tips make smoking a joint or a hand-rolled cigarette a lot easier. For example, filter tips ensure that:

  • The end of your joint or cigarette doesn’t get wet or go limp
  • No nasty bits of tobacco get into your mouth
  • Rolling becomes a lot easier
  • The smoke is cooled better, so you don’t burn your mouth
  • Tar is blocked, so you inhale fewer harmful substances

So it has many benefits. In addition, each type of filter tip provides a different effect. Thanks to the various shapes and sizes, you can inhale active ingredients more slowly or quickly, or reduce the tobacco taste in your mouth. Experiment for yourself or read more below about the different types of filter tips.

Types of filter tips

The most commonly used filter tips are made from eco-friendly materials, such as paper or cotton.

Paper filter tips are the cheapest, but not everyone likes them equally.

Cotton filter tips filter more tar out of the smoke than other filter tips. This makes them slightly healthier. Cotton filter tips also last quite a long time.

You can buy tips in different sizes or, of course, trim them yourself. Some people prefer thinner filter tips because they’re easier to roll. Others prefer short filter tips to create the most authentic taste and smoke possible. In any case, we recommend always using filter tips when rolling a joint or cigarette. This makes smoking not only easier and more enjoyable, but also healthier.
