The Dutch-Smart Herb Shop
Herbs have been used for thousands of years by cultures around the world, from traditional Chinese medicine to shamanic rituals in the Amazon. At Dutch-Smart, we bring this heritage into the modern era with a carefully curated selection of over 150 different herbs, extracts, and tinctures.
The advantage of many natural herbs is that, when used responsibly, they have few to no side effects. They offer an alternative to synthetic substances and can often be used daily. However, it is important to educate yourself thoroughly about dosage and potential interactions. Always start with a low dose to see how your body reacts.
Quality and Food Safety
At Dutch-Smart, we take quality very seriously. We operate in accordance with HACCP guidelines (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), the international food safety system. This means that our herbs are processed, stored, and packaged according to strict hygiene protocols.
In addition, we are supervised by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), which conducts regular audits to verify that we meet all legal requirements. These certifications guarantee that when you buy herbs from us, they are safe and of consistent quality.
Our herbs are sourced from reliable suppliers and, where possible, directly from the countries of origin. We inspect every batch for quality before it is added to our product range.

Kratom
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tree native to Southeast Asia whose leaves have been chewed for centuries in Thailand and Malaysia. In low doses, kratom has stimulating and energizing effects; in higher doses, it has calming and pain-relieving effects. We offer an extensive selection:
Borneo kratom: Available in White, Green, and Red varieties. Borneo is known for its calming properties.
Maeng Da kratom: The most potent kratom variety. Available as Red, Green, White, and Super Green.
Thai kratom: A traditional variety from Thailand in Red, White, and Green.
Bali kratom: An all-rounder, popular with beginners. Bali Green is a good choice for beginners.
Other kratom: Green Malay, Stem and Vein, and the All-in-One mix.
Kratom extracts: For experienced users, we offer potent extracts such as Bali Red 20X, Borneo Red 30X, and Maeng Da Red 50X. Also available as resin extract and liquid extract.
Kratom alternatives: Kra Thum Khok (Mitragyna hirsuta) and Mitragyna javanica are related plants with milder effects.
Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum)
Kanna is a South African succulent that has been used for centuries by the Khoikhoi for its mood-enhancing and anxiety-reducing properties. It works via serotonin reuptake inhibitors and produces a mild euphoric, relaxed feeling.
We sell Kanna powder, Kanna leaves, Kanna shredded, and the more potent Kanna 10x extract. For those who want to grow their own, we offer the Kanna plant.
Salvia Divinorum
Salvia Divinorum is one of the most potent natural hallucinogens. Originally used by Mazatec shamans in Mexico for spiritual rituals. The active ingredient, Salvinorin A, induces intense, short-lived trips with dissociative and hallucinogenic effects.
We offer dried leaves and standardized extracts ranging from 5X (beginners) to 80X (very experienced). Intermediate strengths: 10X, 15X, 20X, 30X, and 40X.
Ayahuasca ingredients
Ayahuasca is a psychedelic brew from the Amazon, traditionally used by shamans for spiritual and healing rituals. It consists of a combination of plants that together induce a powerful, long-lasting trip.
We sell the individual ingredients: Banisteriopsis caapi (the MAO inhibitor), available as a resin extract and Banisteriopsis Resin 15:1. Additionally, Mimosa hostilis (Jurema Preta) and Virola theidora as DMT sources.
Please note: Ayahuasca is an extremely potent substance that should not be used lightly. Extensive preparation and knowledge are essential.
Energy Herbs
Our energy herbs provide a natural boost without the crash associated with caffeine. Ideal after a tough day or during a busy period.
Guarana contains more caffeine than coffee, but provides long-lasting energy due to its gradual release. Ginseng is the classic adaptogen for stamina and concentration. Yerba Maté combines caffeine with antioxidants and is popular in South America as a daily beverage.
Other energy herbs: Gotu Kola (for mental clarity), Ginkgo biloba (blood circulation), Coriander, Calamus, Galangal, and Gunpowder Green Tea.
Aphrodisiac herbs
Aphrodisiac herbs can increase libido and make sex more intense. Muira Puama (“potency wood”) is a well-known Brazilian libido booster. Catuaba stimulates blood circulation and the nervous system.
Maca from Peru increases energy, stamina, and fertility. Clavo Huasca is used in the Amazon as an aphrodisiac. The Aphrodite blend combines several libido-boosting herbs.
Relaxing herbs
In the relaxing herbs category, you’ll find natural alternatives for stress and anxiety. Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is the main ingredient in absinthe and has mild sedative properties. Bay Bean provides a cannabis-like relaxing sensation.
Dream herbs
Dream herbs can help induce lucid dreams: vivid dreams in which you are aware that you are dreaming and can sometimes influence the content yourself.
African Dream Root (Silene capensis) is used by the Xhosa people in South Africa to induce prophetic dreams. Entada rheedii (African Dream Seed) is a large legume seed that also enhances dreaming.
Other dream herbs: Kirkii, Mukanya Kude, Ubhubhubhu, Uzara, and Devil’s Claw.
Psychedelic herbs
The category of psychedelic herbs includes plants with hallucinogenic or mind-altering properties. Voacanga africana contains ibogaine-like alkaloids. Mucuna pruriens (velvet bean) contains L-DOPA, a precursor to dopamine. Palo Santo is sacred wood that is burned for purification and meditation.
Health Herbs
Our health herbs are traditional herbs for general well-being. Spirulina is a superfood packed with protein and vitamins. Chamomile is soothing and calms the stomach. Lavender promotes relaxation and sleep.
We also carry Sage, Thyme, Rosemary, Lemon Balm, Calendula, Hops, and Sutherlandia.
Tinctures
Our tinctures are liquid herbal extracts, dissolved in alcohol or glycerin. They work faster than dried herbs because the active ingredients have already been extracted and are absorbed immediately.
We have an extensive range of over 30 tinctures, including Blue Lotus 15x, Ashwagandha, Valerian, Passionflower, Echinacea, Ginkgo, and Salvia Divinorum tincture.
Herbal Extracts
For experienced users, we offer concentrated herbal extracts. The word “extract” means that the active ingredients have been extracted from the herb and concentrated. The advantage is that you need less to achieve the same effect. The disadvantage is that dosing must be more precise.
Popular extracts: Guarana 3:1, Muira Puama 10:1, Blue Lotus 20x, Wild Lettuce 50x, Entada rheedii 50x, and 5-HTP 99% pure.
Alkaloid extracts
Alkaloid extracts are liquid concentrates with a standardized percentage of active alkaloids. Available options include Kanna alkaloid extract, Ashwagandha 5%, and Catuaba 10%.
The difference between herbs and extracts
With dried herbs, you consume the entire plant (or parts of it). The active compounds still need to be absorbed by your body, which takes time. Herbs are milder and offer more control over the experience.
Extracts are concentrated forms in which the active compounds have already been extracted. They work faster and more powerfully. The concentration is indicated by a number: for example, a 10x extract is 10 times stronger than the original herb. With extracts, precise dosing is essential to avoid unpleasant experiences.
Our tip: always start with herbs or mild extracts and gradually work your way up to higher concentrations as you gain more experience.
