What is kratom?
Kratom, scientifically known as Mitragyna Speciosa, is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia. The leaves of this tree are widely used for medicinal purposes. The effects of kratom are often compared to those of opium or morphine, but without the addiction. The health benefits of kratom stem from the unique chemical compounds and nutrients in the plant’s leaves, including a wide range of alkaloids and other organic substances that affect many of the human body’s organ systems.
Kratom types are generally categorized into three different colors. Red vein, white vein, or green vein. This classification depends on the color of the stem and vein. If you look closely at a kratom leaf, you’ll see that the stem and vein have a specific color. This color determines the effect the kratom leaf has on the body and mind. Different colors mean a different effect and a different chemical composition. The stem and veins are removed during the grinding process. Therefore, only the leaf is supposed to be consumed, without the stem and veins.
