Yes, all products in our smartshop are completely legal in the Netherlands. Most of them fall under the Commodities Act and must meet food safety requirements. Some products, such as magic truffles, fall into a specific legal category: while the active ingredients (psilocybin and psilocin) are listed on Schedule I of the Opium Act, truffles themselves are not included in the ban on mushrooms that has been in effect since 2008. Please note that legislation varies by country. Always check the rules in your own country before ordering products.

A coffee shop sells only cannabis (marijuana and hashish) for recreational use. A smart shop focuses on a broader range of legal, primarily natural psychoactive products: herbs, extracts, mushroom-related products, energy boosters, relaxants, aphrodisiacs, and dietary supplements. Smart shops often also offer headshop items, such as vaporizers, grinders, and smoking accessories.

You must be at least 18 years old to order products from us. This applies to our entire product range, not just psychoactive products. If we have any doubts about your age, we may ask for identification upon delivery.

Orders placed on weekdays before 4:00 PM will be shipped the same day via PostNL. In most cases, you’ll receive your package the next business day. All packages are discreetly packaged with no indication of the contents. For orders of €49 or more, shipping is free within the Netherlands.

We accept various payment methods, including iDEAL, bank transfer, and credit card. Your bank statement will show a generic description, so it won’t be clear exactly what you ordered. Complete anonymity is not possible with online payments, as a payment transaction is always recorded.

The term "smart drugs" originally referred to nootropics: substances that enhance cognitive functions, such as memory and concentration. In practice, the term is used more broadly to refer to the entire range of products available in a smart shop, including psychedelics, energy boosters, and relaxing herbs. In our shop, you’ll find only legal products of natural origin. Synthetic nootropics such as modafinil or racetams are not available here.

Magic truffles (sclerotia) and magic mushrooms (the above-ground fruiting bodies) are produced by the same species of fungi and contain the same active compounds: psilocybin and psilocin. The difference is biological, not chemical. Truffles are hardened underground fungal structures that the fungus forms as a food reserve. The effects are similar, though the potency can vary by species and batch. In the Netherlands, truffles are legally available, but magic mushrooms are not.

The correct dosage varies by product and by person. As a general rule: always start with the lowest recommended dose and wait for the full effect to set in before taking an additional dose, if necessary. With truffles, it takes 30 to 60 minutes for the effects to kick in; with capsules containing herbal extracts, it can sometimes take longer. We do not recommend using multiple psychoactive products at the same time unless you know exactly what the interactions are. Some combinations are downright dangerous. MAO-inhibiting substances (such as Banisteriopsis Caapi or Syrian rue) should never be combined with serotonergic agents: this can lead to potentially fatal serotonin syndrome. Kratom combined with alcohol or benzodiazepines increases the risk of respiratory depression. Do not combine any smart shop product with prescription medication without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

If you have an unpleasant experience with psychedelics, try to stay calm and remind yourself that the effects are temporary. Find a quiet, safe environment and have a sober person accompany you. Drink water, eat something light if you can, and avoid further stimulation (loud music, crowded environments). A so-called “trip stopper” typically contains valerian, maltodextrin, and dextrose and can help calm you down more quickly. If you experience severe symptoms such as chest pain, loss of consciousness, or extreme anxiety that does not subside, call 911 and specify which substances were ingested.

Yes. Since magic truffles are legal in the Netherlands, microdosing them is also legal. Microdosing involves taking a fraction of a standard dose (typically 0.5 to 1 gram of fresh truffles) on a fixed schedule, such as every other day. Many users report subtle improvements in creativity and mood, although the scientific evidence for this is not yet conclusive. For accurate weighing, you’ll need a precision scale with at least 0.01-gram accuracy.

Most dried herbs and powders are best stored in a cool, dry, and dark place in an airtight container. Direct sunlight and moisture accelerate the breakdown of active ingredients. Fresh magic truffles should be stored in the refrigerator (2 to 4 degrees Celsius) and have a limited shelf life after opening: consume them preferably within a week. Store capsules and supplements according to the instructions on the packaging, usually at room temperature. Live plants and cacti, of course, have their own care requirements, which you’ll find listed with the product.
