Use supplements in addition to a healthy diet

There is a lot of debate about the use of dietary supplements. For example, people might think they are a substitute for real food. Of course, that’s not the case. The name says it all: supplements add something to your normal diet. This is especially true for vitamin supplements. So keep eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, and only use dietary supplements for vitamins that are hard to get from food. But again: no one can live on pills alone!

How much should I take, and when?

How often you should take a capsule naturally varies by supplement. Some have higher dosages or are more potent than others. In any case, never take more tablets than the prescribed amount. This can only lead to negative effects, which is exactly the opposite of what you want to achieve.

Most dietary supplements recommend about 1 to 3 or 4 tablets per day. You usually take these with a meal, at the beginning or end of the day. The goal is to ensure your stomach is empty or that you’re just going to sleep, so the supplement can work effectively. Check the packaging and the package insert to see how many tablets you should take and when you should take them.
