Smoking King Size Blue Rolling Papers
Brothers Lorenzo and Antonio Miquel y Costas started producing cigarette paper in Barcelona in 1868, making them one of the oldest rolling paper manufacturers in Europe. The family registered the Smoking brand in 1924, and it broke through internationally in 1929 after winning the Grand Prix at the Barcelona International Exhibition, the same year the company officially became Miquel y Costas & Miquel S.A. Smoking is now exported to more than 80 countries and ranks among the best-selling rolling paper brands in the world. King Size Blue is the regular paper within the Smoking range: an extra large sheet of 110 x 53 mm made from plain rolling paper without hemp fibre or additional treatment. It is the classic, no-frills choice for anyone who wants a large, sturdy and neutral paper.
The King Size format is bigger than a standard sheet, which makes it easier to roll larger amounts of tobacco or shag in one go. Because the paper is slightly thicker than some ultra-thin alternatives, it burns more evenly and is less likely to tear while rolling, which suits both beginners and experienced rollers.
How to use it
Fold the sheet along the gummed edge, spread the filling evenly along the length, and roll from the plain side toward the gummed strip. Only moisten the gum once the rest of the roll is tightly formed, so the paper does not stick or tear too early. The blue print on the booklet makes it easy to tell this paper apart from the green hemp version in the Smoking range, which is useful if you keep more than one type at home.
Specifications
Each booklet contains 33 sheets of 110 x 53 mm, the standard size within the Smoking King Size series. The paper is unflavoured and keeps the classic, neutral composition the brand has been known for since 1929. Dutch-Smart's range also includes the Smoking King Size Green (hemp paper) and filter tips from Elements and Greengo, so you can easily put together a complete rolling set.
