Sand Glass Bong Black & White - 43 cm
This bong is built around a hollow base tube standing 43 cm tall with a 55 mm diameter, finished in a black-and-white colourway that gives the tube a marbled look. You place herbs or tobacco in the transparent bowl, which connects to the tube via a chillum with an 18.8 mm joint. The chillum spreads the smoke under water, filtering it before it flows into the tube.
Halfway up the tube sits a twisted glass line that breaks up the smoke flow, which in practice gives a smoother, less harsh draw than a plain straight tube. There's also a kick hole at the height of the socket: hold it closed with a finger while lighting and release it while inhaling to pull the remaining smoke through the tube in one go. The tube ends in a mouthpiece ring for more comfortable contact with your lips.
Use and cleaning
Fill the bong with water to just above the bottom of the chillum. Place the bowl, fill it with herbs and light it; keep the kick hole closed while lighting and release it while inhaling for the full draw. Clean the bong regularly with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%) and some coarse salt: swirl it around inside the tube, let it sit for a moment, then rinse with warm water. Glass is fragile, so keep the bong on a stable, flat surface.
