TanFaster: beta-carotene capsules for your skin

Beta-carotene is the pigment that gives carrots and apricots their orange colour. Your body turns it into vitamin A, and vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. Each TanFaster capsule contains 6.6 mg beta-carotene, dissolved in vegetable oil and topped up with natural vitamin E. Many people take it in the weeks before summer or a sunny holiday.

Ingredients per capsule

• Beta-carotene: 6.6 mg (as vitamin A: 137.5% of the reference intake)

• Sunflower oil, refined soybean oil and corn germ oil

• Natural vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol)

• Capsule: gelatin, glycerin, beta-carotene (colouring)

Contents: tub of 60 capsules (26.3 grams). Because of the gelatin, not suitable for vegetarians.

How to use

Take one capsule twice a day with water. More is not better: stay at two a day. TanFaster does not protect your skin from the sun. So keep using sunscreen, and don't spend longer in the sun or on a sunbed than you're used to.

Frequently asked questions

I smoke, can I use it?
No. Smokers are advised not to take beta-carotene supplements, because high doses were linked to a higher risk of lung cancer in studies.

Can I combine it with a multivitamin?
First check how much vitamin A is in your multivitamins, so you don't double up.

Does it contain soy?
It contains refined soybean oil. Under EU rules this is not classed as an allergen, but if you're very sensitive, check with your doctor.
