THC saliva test: measures current THC levels
A saliva test for THC works differently than a urine test. While a urine test measures THC metabolites that can sometimes remain in the body for weeks after use, a saliva test measures active THC that is directly present in the saliva. THC is typically detectable in saliva for up to several hours after smoking or otherwise using cannabis. The exact detection period varies by person and depends on the amount consumed, frequency of use, and individual saliva characteristics.
The Rausch Radar T3 has a detection limit of 3 ng/ml. By comparison, most saliva tests use 15 to 50 ng/ml as their limit. A lower detection limit means the test yields a positive result at lower concentrations of active THC, which reduces the likelihood of a false-negative result. The test is therefore suitable as a personal check to determine whether recent cannabis use is still detectable. You can find more drug tests in the drug tests category.
How do you use the Rausch Radar T3?
Wait at least 10 minutes after eating, drinking, smoking, or oral hygiene before taking the test. Remove the test device from the packaging and place the absorption pad against the inside of your cheek or under your tongue for the duration specified in the package insert. Read the result within the indicated time window. Store unopened tests in a dry place between 2 and 30°C, away from direct sunlight.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is THC detectable via a saliva test?
THC is typically detectable in saliva for up to several hours after use, depending on the amount of cannabis consumed and personal factors. This is a key difference from a urine test: urine tests measure THC metabolites that can remain present for days to weeks after use. A saliva test indicates recent use, while a urine test indicates use over a longer period.
What is the difference between 3 ng/ml and the 15–50 ng/ml of other saliva tests?
The detection limit determines the concentration at which the test yields a positive result. The Rausch Radar T3 detects as low as 3 ng/ml, while many other saliva tests only react at 15 to 50 ng/ml. A lower limit makes the test more sensitive: it yields a positive result sooner and remains positive longer as concentrations decline after cannabis use.
Is this test suitable for determining whether I can drive safely?
The Rausch Radar T3 is a personal indicative test and not an official measurement tool for road use. The legal standards and testing methods for driving under the influence of cannabis are established by the government and determined through blood tests by authorized agencies. Use the test as a personal check, not as a substitute for official testing.
