Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is a mushroom that grows in clusters at the base of oak trees, originally from northeastern Japan and now also cultivated in Europe and the United States. It has been used in Japan and China for centuries and is sometimes nicknamed the "dancing mushroom", supposedly because foragers would dance with joy upon finding one. Maitake belongs to the same group of functional mushrooms as chaga and reishi, which have a long-standing place in traditional Asian cuisine and herbal practice.
The mushroom naturally contains polysaccharides, including beta-glucans, compounds that have been studied in Japan for decades. Commercial extracts are often standardised on their beta-glucan content. Scientific research into maitake is still in its early stages, and most studies are small-scale or lab-based, so we deliberately make no claims here about effects or health benefits. These capsules are intended as a food supplement, not as a replacement for a varied diet or medical treatment.
Dosage
This pack contains 30 capsules. Follow the instructions on the packaging for the exact dosage; users typically take 1 to 2 capsules per day, preferably at a fixed time so the routine is easy to maintain. If in doubt, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication, consult a doctor or pharmacist first.
Usage
Take the capsules with a glass of water, with or without a meal. Don't casually combine supplements with other mushroom extracts or medication without checking first, especially if you're already taking medicine.
Storage
Store the capsules in a dry, dark place at room temperature, out of reach of children. Use before the expiry date printed on the jar and reseal it properly after use.
