Borneo White kratom powder
Borneo White is the dried and finely ground leaf of the Mitragyna speciosa plant, harvested on the island of Borneo. Kratom is classified by the colour of the veins in the leaf: Red, Green and White Vein each have their own alkaloid profile. White Vein is generally known as the most stimulating variety within that classification, while Borneo as a region of origin yields relatively high concentrations of 7-hydroxymitragynine, alongside mitragynine the main active compound in kratom.
Dosage
The right dosage is personal and depends on body weight, experience and the desired effect. As a general guideline: at 1 to 3 grams most people experience a mildly stimulating effect with increased alertness, at 3 to 5 grams a balance between stimulation and relaxation is reached, and at 5 to 8 grams the relaxing character takes over. Always start with a low dose, especially with a kratom variety you haven't tried before. The first effects are usually noticeable after 15 to 30 minutes and last on average 3 to 6 hours.
Use
The most popular preparation method in the Netherlands is kratom tea: dissolve the powder in hot water, let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes and strain out the leaf. Honey or lemon softens the bitter taste. If you'd rather skip tea, take the measured amount of powder directly in your mouth and wash it down with water or juice ("toss and wash"), or mix the powder into a smoothie, yoghurt or fruit juice, which largely masks the taste.
Storage
Store the powder dry, airtight and out of direct sunlight, preferably in the original packaging or a sealable jar. This keeps the alkaloid content intact the longest. Do not combine kratom with alcohol, MAO inhibitors, benzodiazepines or other psychoactive substances, and do not drive or operate heavy machinery after use. Suitable only for individuals aged 18 and over; not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
