Greenline Rasta Bong - glass, 23 cm
The Greenline Rasta Bong belongs to the same Greenline line as the smaller models in the Dutch-Smart range, but at 23 cm tall and 28 mm in diameter it has a slightly sturdier build. Its most striking feature is the Rasta colour design: the characteristic green, yellow and red bands that set this model apart from the plain glass versions. This colour combination is known from the Jamaican flag and reggae culture, and has been used for years in the headshop world as a cheerful, recognisable print on water pipes and accessories.
As with all glass water pipes, the water in the chamber filters and cools the smoke before it is inhaled. Glass has the advantage of being neutral in taste and easy to clean, which means the bong lasts a long time with proper care. The slightly wider 28 mm diameter compared to the smallest Greenline models also gives this piece a bit more volume in the chamber.
Use and maintenance
Fill the chamber with a layer of water just above the end of the downstem, not too much, to avoid pulling water into your mouth when inhaling. Place herb in the bowl, light it and inhale gently while the smoke bubbles through the water. Change the water after every use to prevent odour build-up, and clean the bong regularly with warm water and isopropyl alcohol, followed by a thorough rinse with clean water. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as hot water in a cold bong, to keep the glass from being stressed and to reduce the risk of cracking.
