Tightvac Solid 0.57L - Airtight Storage Container
The Tightvac Solid 0.57L is an airtight storage container from the Tightvac (Tightpac) brand, in the solid version with an opaque dark blue body and matching lid. Where the clear version offers visibility, this solid version keeps light out, which is useful for contents sensitive to light exposure, such as dried herbs. The 0.57 litre size suits coffee beans, ground coffee, dried herbs or tea.
The container works with the same patented valve system as the rest of the Tightvac line: as you close the lid, a one-way valve pushes the air out of the container, and no air can flow back in once sealed. That limits contact with oxygen and moisture, which helps preserve the freshness and aroma of the contents.
Use and care
Slide the side button to release the lid, fill the container, then press the lid back on while holding the button in. You'll feel the lid drop into place as the air escapes through the valve; release the button afterwards to activate the vacuum seal. To open, slide the same button again. Clean the container with a dry or slightly damp cloth and let it dry fully before refilling, so the valve doesn't get clogged.
The fit between lid and body is deliberately not razor-tight: Tightvac found that a slightly looser-fitting lid actually doubles the lifespan of the vacuum seal without sacrificing airtightness. The more often you open and close the container, the firmer the seal feels as the valve beds in. That makes it a durable alternative to disposable bags: with normal use, a single Tightvac lasts for years.
