Nymphaea Ampla (White Lotus)
The white lotus or white water lily (Nymphaea alba) contains the compounds nupharine and nymphaeine, which have a very unique effect. In the past, the herb was often used by people who wanted that little extra something in the bedroom.
What is White Lotus?
Nymphaea alba, also known as the European white water lily or white lotus, is a beautiful plant native to Europe. It is often confused with Nymphaea lotus, the so-called Egyptian white water lily. This plant is also generally referred to as the White Lotus. In Europe, the water lily is mainly used as an ornamental plant (think of Efteling!), but visitors to Dutch Smart will primarily be interested in consuming this plant
Effects of White Lotus
Nymphaea alba has a number of unique effects. For hundreds of years, this plant has been consumed forspiritual purposes, among other things. Today, it remains a popular remedy because it has a rather unique effect. It is primarily the alkaloids nupharine and nymphaeine that are responsible for the desired effects of white lotus.
Here at the Dutch-Smart store, we have a wide variety of aphrodisiacs. The flowers of the European white water lily can be consumed in the same way as other similar plants. The petals can be consumed as tea, smoked, or steeped in wine. This dried white lotus that we sell in our store is best enjoyed as tea.
Usage
To make tea, steep about 5 grams of white lotus in hot water for ten to fifteen minutes. You can also let the plant soak in wine for a few hours. Use about 5 grams per bottle. Do not use too much: white lotus makes the wine bitter and difficult to drink.
