High Lands Mix - 20-gram herbal blend
High Lands Mix combines five herbs into a blend for smoking or brewing as tea. Below is a short note on each ingredient.
Wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa) is a plant from the lettuce family traditionally harvested for the milky sap in its stem, known as lactucarium; the Hopi traditionally used wild lettuce before going to sleep. Calea (Calea zacatechichi) is known as the "dream herb" and has been smoked or drunk as tea by the Chontal people of the Mexican state of Oaxaca for centuries, as part of a tradition around dreaming and divination. Skullcap (Scutellaria) is a herb from the mint family long used as a calming tea. Catmint (Nepeta cataria) has been a popular tea herb since medieval times for its lemony, minty flavour and was traditionally used in soothing herbal tea. Peppermint is added for a fresh taste.
Use
The mix can be smoked, for instance rolled into a herbal cigarette, or brewed as a tea by steeping a teaspoon in hot water just off the boil for a few minutes. Combining it with alcohol isn't recommended.
Storage
Store the blend airtight, dry and away from light to best preserve its aroma and flavour.
This herbal blend is a food supplement and doesn't replace a varied diet or medical care. If pregnant, on medication or dealing with a medical condition, consult a doctor first.
