Blue Mountain High - 20-gram herbal mix
Blue Mountain High combines eight botanical ingredients into a blend for smoking or brewing as tea, finished with a cherry flavour. Below is a short note on each main ingredient.
Blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) is a water lily that held a fixed place in ancient Egyptian ritual, where the petals were steeped in wine and tea; the plant contains the alkaloid nuciferine, among other compounds. Wild dagga (Leonotis leonurus) is a South African plant traditionally smoked on its own or mixed with tobacco; it's sometimes nicknamed "wild cannabis" for its appearance, not for a comparable effect. Skullcap (Scutellaria) is a herb from the mint family that herbal tradition regards as calming and has long been brewed as a tea. Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is a Central American shrub traditionally smoked and drunk as tea, while yerba santa (Eriodictyon) is a Californian herb Indigenous groups smoked for the airways. Honeyweed (Leonurus sibiricus) resembles cannabis in appearance and appears in some herbal mixes, though its effects aren't well established scientifically. Clover is included as a filler herb.
Use
The mix can be smoked, for instance rolled into a herbal cigarette, or brewed as a tea by steeping a teaspoon in hot water just off the boil for a few minutes. Combining it with alcohol isn't recommended.
Storage
Store the mix airtight, dry and away from light to keep its aroma and flavour for as long as possible.
This herbal mix is a food supplement and doesn't replace a varied diet or medical care. If pregnant, on medication or dealing with a medical condition, consult a doctor first. Keep out of reach of children. The historical and traditional uses mentioned above haven't been scientifically established for this product.
