Precision scale with a colour display

The On Balance SP-500 Spectrum weighs up to 500 grams with 0.1-gram accuracy, and converts to grams, ounces, grains and carats. It has a spring-loaded flip lid that protects the mirrored weighing tray when not in use, and doubles as a small catch tray while weighing. At around 113 grams and roughly 9.7 x 6.4 x 1.8 cm, the scale fits easily in a drawer or bag.

The most distinctive feature is the LCD display, which cycles through red, green and blue while weighing, setting the SP-500 apart from most basic kitchen scales. The tare function works across the full weighing range, so you can zero out the weight of a bowl or bag before reading the net weight of its contents.

Use and care

Flip open the lid, switch the scale on and wait for the display to settle at zero before weighing. Use the tare button to cancel out the weight of an empty container. After 60 seconds of inactivity, the scale switches off automatically to save the batteries. Use it at an ambient temperature between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius for the most accurate readings, and keep the weighing tray clean and dry.

The 2 required AAA batteries are included, so the scale is ready to use straight out of the box.
