The automatic calibration program checks the scale on startup, and the blue LED backlight keeps the display easy to read even in dimly lit rooms.

Instructions for use

Place the scale on a flat, stable surface and switch it on. Let the scale complete its automatic calibration program before you start weighing. Use the unit button to select the desired weighing unit: grams, ounces, grains or carats. Place the object to be weighed on the weighing platform and wait until the display stabilises. Use the tare function to zero out the weight of a bowl or packaging first, so you only weigh the contents.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do the units oz, gn and ct mean?

Besides grams (g), this scale supports three additional units. Ounce (oz) is a common imperial weight unit. Grain (gn) is a small weight unit used among other things in pharmacy, equal to about 0.0648 grams. Carat (ct) is the unit for gemstones, where 1 ct equals 0.2 grams.

Why does the scale need to be calibrated?

Calibration lets the scale recognise a known reference weight and adjust itself accordingly, which ensures the accuracy of later measurements. The Miami 100x0.01's automatic calibration program runs through this process on startup, so you don't need to use a calibration weight manually. Dutch-Smart's scales category also stocks larger models with a higher capacity for anyone who regularly weighs larger quantities.
