Set of glass jars - S, M and L
Glass has been the standard material for storing herbs, spices and other sensitive substances for centuries, simply because it's chemically inert: it doesn't react with what's inside and doesn't absorb odour or flavour itself. Plastic jars can behave differently, especially with strongly scented herbs or oily products, which can leave a lingering aftertaste in the plastic over time. This set consists of three glass jars in sizes S, M and L, each fitted with a screw-on lid that seals airtight. Use the small jar for a test batch or a single portion, for instance, and the large jar for a supply you're keeping a bit longer.
Use
Fill the jar with the amount of herbs, snuff or other dry product you want to store, and screw the lid on firmly. Because the glass is transparent, you can see at a glance how much is left without opening the jar, which is handy if you use several jars side by side for different types or amounts. The screw-on lid provides an airtight seal, keeping moisture and air away from the contents. For on the go, the small jar (S) is especially practical: it fits easily in a pocket, bag or case.
Care and storage
Clean a jar after use with warm water and, if needed, a drop of washing-up liquid, then let it dry fully before refilling it, so no moisture is left inside the sealed space. Store the filled jars in a dry, dark spot, away from direct sunlight, to keep the contents fresh for as long as possible. Since glass isn't porous, you can simply reuse the jars afterwards for a different herb or product without any leftover smell from the previous filling.
