Screen support (retaining) ring - Vaporgenie

The Vaporgenie is a pocket vaporizer that works through convection: the flame never touches the herb directly, but heats the air around it through the flame filter. A fine metal screen sits above this filter and holds the herb in place, and the retaining ring is the small part that in turn fixes that screen so it cannot shift.

With regular use and the heat of the flame filter, the retaining ring can wear out, deform or get lost over time. Once that happens, the screen sits loose and the warm air no longer spreads evenly, which directly affects the draw and the vaporization. This loose ring is therefore a handy spare part to keep on hand for your vaporizer, especially if you use it often.

Replacing and maintenance

Unscrew the bowl of the Vaporgenie and carefully remove the old retaining ring and the screen, for example with tweezers. First put the (possibly new) screen back in position above the flame filter and then fix it with the new retaining ring, so everything sits flat and firm again. Clean the bowl every now and then with isopropyl alcohol to prevent build-up: this extends the life of both the ring and the screen and keeps the taste of your herb clean.

Specifications

The retaining ring is made for the standard Vaporgenie bowl and is supplied separately, without a screen. Alongside this ring, Dutch-Smart also carries loose replacement screens and the mouthpiece for the Vaporgenie, so you can keep the complete pipe fully working, whichever part happens to need replacing.
