Gnaphalium oxyphyllum 1:1 extract
Gnaphalium oxyphyllum is a herbaceous plant from the daisy family known in Mexico as "gordolobo". The plant grows naturally in parts of Central America and has been used there for generations within traditional folk herbalism, particularly as a herb associated with the respiratory tract. Several Gnaphalium species from the same plant family are sold and used together in Mexico under the shared name gordolobo.
This extract is a 1:1 tincture, meaning the ratio between plant material and solvent used during extraction is chosen so the tincture contains a high, standardised concentration of the plant per drop. That makes a tincture practical to use, there is no need to brew tea or weigh out herbs, a few drops are enough.
Dosage
Start with a small number of drops and build up gradually, especially the first time you use this extract. Dissolve the drops in some water or another liquid of your choice, taking it undiluted can taste strong due to the concentration. Keep the included dropper clean and avoid letting the extract come into contact with other liquids to prevent contamination.
Use
Shake the bottle well before use, tinctures can settle somewhat over time. Preferably take the extract at a quiet moment of the day, so you can properly gauge how it suits you before adjusting the amount if needed.
Storage
Store the bottle upright, in a dark place at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Make sure the cap is properly closed after each use so the tincture does not dry out or change in quality. Keep out of reach of children.
This extract pairs well with other herbal tinctures in the Dutch-Smart range, such as the Chaga extract and the Mexican Arnica extract, for anyone who wants to combine or compare multiple plant extracts.
