Vaporizers

It’s nice, isn’t it, having a little smoke now and then… A cigarette with your morning coffee (or before, of course—it’s so nice right after getting up) to wake yourself up a bit. A few more in the afternoon at the office, during the smoke break, to help you stay focused. And then finally that joint in the evening. Finally relaxing. Chill! And… A joint a day keeps the doctor away, right?

I’m sure it’s not the first time you’ve read this: smoking isn’t exactly healthy. When you smoke—cannabis, tobacco, or whatever—harmful substances are released. Not that that’s why you smoke; you just get them thrown in for free.  You smoke to get the active ingredients. You want THC or nicotine, and along with that you get benzene, arsenic, formaldehyde, natural tar (yummy!), carbon monoxide (just what you need…), and dozens of other types of toxins as a bonus.

And that’s where the vaporizer comes in. A vaporizer doesn’t burn the herbs (tobacco, weed, or whatever you like); they’re vaporized. And that makes quite a difference, in many ways… you ingest far fewer (or none) of the harmful byproducts. So your health benefits, as does your wallet: a vaporizer is also much more economical to use. When you burn herbs, the temperature in your pipe, cigarette, or joint gets so high that many active ingredients are destroyed. A vaporizer doesn’t have this drawback. So you need to use much less herb to achieve the same effect.

How a vaporizer works

The warm airflow in the device melts the active compounds in the plant material (tobacco, cannabis, or other substances). You inhale this vapor—which contains virtually no tar particles or harmful gases but does contain the desired compounds—either directly or after filtering. After vaporization, you’re left with a colorless and odorless residue. You toss this in the trash and then refill your vaporizer.

Vaporizing is not only much healthier and more economical than smoking, but you also don’t bother those around you with nasty smoke. Bring on that smoking ban. With your vaporizer in hand, you can wander the country enjoying a nice vapor.
