Instructions for the 100% Mycelium Magic Mushroom Grow Kit

Which grow kits can you use this manual for:

What you’ll need:

• A water spray bottle filled with clean (tap) water.
• A bright spot with a temperature between 20°C and 24°C (preferably 23°C, but out of direct sunlight!)
• Sterile gloves, a face mask, disinfectant, and clean clothes.
• A little patience—that’s essential when growing mushrooms.
• Ready to grow your own fresh magic mushrooms? :-)

Always work hygienically! Don’t breathe or cough into the bag.

Always wash your hands before you start growing. You might have touched mold; it’s in the air, it’s everywhere, and you don’t want it to ruin your beloved truffles!

Step 1

Take the grow kit, the plastic bag, and the paperclip out of the box. Remove the lid from the grow kit (keep the lid in a safe place). Rinse the lid under running water. You’ll need it again later.

Step 2

Place the growing kit without the lid into the included plastic bag (opening at the top). After one day, start misting the inside of the bag every two days with clean water using a plant sprayer. DO NOT spray directly onto the kit itself!

Step 3

Close the bag after each misting using the included paperclip. The bag has built-in filters, so you don’t need to worry about air circulation.

Step 4

Place the grow kit in an area with sufficient daylight and at a temperature between 18 °C and 28 °C. NEVER place the grow kit in direct sunlight. Although magic mushrooms will grow at virtually any temperature above 15 °C, 23 °C is the ideal temperature for an optimal harvest. Special heating mats are available to maintain this temperature without having to heat the entire room.

Step 5

Stop watering as soon as the first mushrooms are visible (phase 1). From now on, leave the bag slightly open at all times so that moisture can evaporate (phase 2). Too much moisture is not good. The first mushrooms will be visible after about 1 week. Your first harvest will be about a week later. Make sure to harvest before the first spores start to fall!

Freshmushrooms grow kits produce their first harvest fairly quickly. After 1 week, the first buds are already visible. Low and high temperatures can slow down this growth process slightly. As soon as the buds are visible, stop spraying the inside of the bag. It usually takes one to two weeks for the mushrooms to fully develop.

Step 6

These kits produce multiple mushroom harvests. To do this, after the first harvest, fill the kit with clean tap water. This process is known as cold-shock and revitalizes the mycelium, ensuring there is enough moisture for the mushrooms to start growing again.

Step 7

Place the lid of the grow kit back on the kit. Let the kit rest for 12 hours. Open a corner of the lid and let excess water drain out. From here, you can follow the instructions from step 1 again. This process can be repeated several times.

Growing with a heating mat

Place the plastic bag containing the Grow Kit on the heating mat. After 2 days, turn off the heating mat and wait for the buds to develop; in most cases, this takes between 5 and 10 days. Then turn the heating mat back on and open the top of the bag slightly so that the moisture can evaporate properly.

What to do if the buds haven’t appeared after 10 days.

Remove the cake from the plastic container, place it on its side back in the plastic container, and start over by turning the heating mat on for 2 days and then off again.
