Make Your Own Tea from Magic Truffles
Do you love the effects of magic truffles, but aren’t so crazy about the taste? We can totally relate! Luckily, there’s a perfect solution for taking magic truffles without having to deal with that nasty aftertaste: you can actually brew them into tea. We’d be happy to explain how to do that.

Better for nausea
Making tea from magic truffles isn’t just better if you don’t like the taste; it also helps combat the nausea you might experience when taking the truffles. That’s because the nausea comes from eating the truffles, not from the psilocybin they contain. Plus, you can customize the magic truffle tea to your own taste, and to enhance or intensify the effects of your trip. You’ll notice the effects of truffle tea pretty quickly, so make sure you’re ready to trip when you start sipping your tea ;-)
How to make truffle tea in five steps
Use the same amount of truffles for your tea as you would if you were eating them. You can also use magic mushrooms for this. Aim for 10 to 25 grams for a standard trip. Grab a grinder, a teapot, a strainer, and any ingredients you want to add to your tea. Lemon adds more flavor to your tea and also makes your trip kick in faster and more intensely; certain herbs (such as Syrian rue, which you should really only add if you’re an experienced user) can have that effect as well. If you really want to minimize nausea as much as possible, add some ginger to your tea.
- Measure out the correct amount of water and bring it to a boil.
- Meanwhile, grind the truffles finely with the grinder so that the active compounds are absorbed into the water more quickly. Then add the finely ground truffles to the teapot.
- Let the boiled water cool: boiling water will break down the active compounds in truffles, so give it plenty of time.
- Let the mixture sit for about 15–20 minutes, then add the optional extra ingredients. Stir well every now and then.
- Pour everything through the strainer into your cup, and press or squeeze the truffles well (for example, with a small spoon). You don’t have to throw away the pieces; you can use them again if you want.

The magic truffle tea you’ve just made should taste fairly neutral compared to the truffle flavor you’re not so fond of. If you still don’t like the taste, it can be nice to add a little honey.
