Ayurveda Incense - 15 grams
These incense sticks are named after the Ayurvedic tradition, the centuries-old Indian system focused on balance between body and mind, in which fragrant materials such as incense have long held a place. Ayurveda literally means "knowledge of life" and has been practised in India for thousands of years as one of the world's oldest healing traditions, in which herbs, oils and aromatic substances play a central role. These sticks echo that tradition by combining natural herbs, wood powder and resin into a spicy-sweet aroma.
The sticks are hand-rolled around a thin bamboo core, as is customary for Indian agarbatti incense. That craft has been passed down for generations within incense-making families in India and produces an even, gradual burn. The aroma is spicy-sweet and is traditionally associated with a calm, clear atmosphere at home. A 15-gram box contains around twelve sticks.
Usage
Place a stick upright in an incense holder with an ash catcher, or lay it at an angle in a holder with a slot. Light the tip, let the flame burn for about 10 seconds, then blow it out so the stick smoulders. One stick burns for roughly 30 to 45 minutes. Make sure there is enough ventilation and never burn incense unattended or near flammable material.
Storage
Store the sticks dry and at room temperature, preferably in the closed box. Moisture affects how well the sticks burn and how intense the scent stays, so keep the box away from a humid bathroom or kitchen.
