How it works

After ingestion, 5-HTP can cross the blood-brain barrier, where the enzyme aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase converts it into serotonin. This pathway bypasses the step that normally limits the speed of serotonin production. Cofactors such as vitamin B6, vitamin C, zinc and magnesium play a role in this conversion.

Dosage

Because this is a pure, undosed powder, you weigh out the desired amount yourself using an accurate scale (0.01 gram).
