Ginseng Extract 20% - Ginsenosides - 3 grams | Panax Ginseng
Panax ginseng is a root herb originally from China, where it has been part of traditional herbal medicine for hundreds of years. The name "Panax" derives from the Greek word for "all-healing", a reference to the root's broad traditional use in the region. The main compound group in ginseng are the ginsenosides, which most research on the plant focuses on. This extract is standardised to 20% ginsenosides, meaning every serving contains a fixed, controlled amount of this compound group instead of the varying concentration found in raw ginseng root, which can differ by growing region, root age and processing method. Ginseng root is typically harvested after several years of growth, since the ginsenoside content is understood to build up as the root matures.
Dosage
Start with a small amount, for example a quarter to half a gram of powder, and build up gradually. The 3-gram pack is sized so you can measure out several servings from it; weigh the amount rather than estimating by eye for a consistent result.
Use
Dissolve the powder in water, tea or a smoothie, or fill it into an empty capsule of your choice. Ginseng naturally has a somewhat bitter taste; combining it with a slightly sweetened drink largely masks this. Do not combine the extract with medication or other stimulating supplements without first checking with a doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Store the extract dry, dark and airtight in the original packaging, out of reach of children, so the powder doesn't clump due to moisture.
