Would you pop 5 grams of magic mushrooms without batting an eye? Well, Mike Tyson would. The former boxing champion was invited to appear on a podcast with Logan Paul, and it’s safe to say things got a bit out of hand. The legendary boxer immediately went looking for magic mushrooms.

A handful of magic mushrooms

Tyson’s fans probably won’t be the least bit surprised to hear about his latest antics, but let’s be honest: it’s still a sight to behold. Most people would think twice before casually popping a handful of magic mushrooms, but then again, most of us aren’t called Iron Mike and aren’t exactly legends. So yeah.

Less than five minutes into the podcast, Tyson traded the joint he was smoking for about four or five grams of magic mushrooms. They were handed to him by Paul’s co-host, Mike Majlak. The rest is history.

Advocate for psychedelics

It’s no secret that Mike Tyson is a big advocate of recreational marijuana. Yet the heavyweight is no stranger to the world of psychedelics either. In fact, it was psychedelics that led to Tyson recently returning to the ring to face another legendary boxer: Roy Jones Jr.

The boxer had previously said that DMT helped him find himself, but during this podcast he also revealed that he might have even been high during his match with Jones Jr. He added that he believes more psychedelics will become legal in the U.S. in the future, saying: 'It’s going to be the best thing in the 21st century… [it] helps me be a better me.”

5-MeO-DMT

Tyson, now 54, has previously spoken about his experiences with other, more potent hallucinogens, including DMT and Changa, and even claimed during a weigh-in last month that a trip with a rare drug called 'The Toad,’ a North American toad that secretes the drug 5-MeO-DMT. This drug convinced him to return to boxing.

During the podcast, the former heavyweight champion said that taking the drug made him feel as if “the sun was rising” and helped him focus while training for his comeback.
