3M Safety Goggles, Over the Glasses
This 3M safety goggle is a so-called Over The Glass (OTG) model: it is specifically designed to fit over existing prescription glasses, without sacrificing comfort or field of view. The clear polycarbonate lens is tested to the European standard EN166:2001 for protection against high-speed, low-energy flying particles.
Use while growing mushrooms
Working sterile during mushroom cultivation regularly involves disinfectants such as isopropyl alcohol or Kodan tincture, and needles when transferring spores to agar. A splash of such a liquid in your eye is unpleasant and can irritate. These goggles protect your eyes during those steps, without requiring you to take off your own glasses if you normally wear them.
Fit and comfort
The goggles have adjustable, low-profile temple arms so you can fine-tune the fit to your head. The design sits lightly on the nose and ears, so you can wear it comfortably through a longer grow session. The sides of the goggles add extra shielding against splashes from the side, protection that ordinary glasses do not offer.
Care
Clean the lens with a soft, damp cloth and mild soapy water; avoid harsh solvents that can damage the coating. Store the goggles dry and scratch-free, preferably in a case, so they stay clear and usable for every grow session.
