Yerba maté is a beverage made from the dried leaves and stems of the South American Ilex paraguariensis tree. It is a stimulating beverage rich in vitamins and minerals. In short, these are some of the unique properties of Yerba maté:

What is Yerba Maté
There are only a handful of plants worldwide that produce caffeine. Alongside tea, coffee, cocoa, kola, and guarana, yerba mate is one of them. The herb is used to produce caffeinated beverages, much like the kola nut. In South America, it is used to make special beverages that are widely consumed in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and southern Brazil. In fact, yerba mate is consumed up to five times as much as coffee in these countries!
Yerba mate was originally discovered by indigenous tribes in the forests of Paraguay and southern Brazil. The Guarani and Tupi tribes, respectively, also referred to the herb as “divine.” In addition to being used to boost the stamina of warriors and farmers, the herb was also used for various other purposes. It was a deeply spiritual herb that often found its way into religious and spiritual ceremonies. At the same time, Argentine gauchos (cowboys) used the herb during food shortages or during long workdays.
How to Use Yerba Maté
Place the dried and crushed leaves of the Yerba maté in a maté cup. Add hot water (about 70°C). The drink is sipped through a small metal straw, the "bombilla," which has a filter at the bottom so the leaves don’t end up in your mouth.
