Dutch-Smart 4-piece metal grinder - 48 mm
This Dutch-Smart grinder is made from aluminium and features the recognisable Dutch-Smart logo on the lid. With a diameter of 48 mm and a height of 41 mm, it sits in the mid-size range: large enough for a generous amount of herb, yet still compact enough to carry easily in your hand or jacket pocket. The sharp teeth on the inside of the lid deliver an even, fine grind with every twist.
This is a 4-piece model, made up of four parts: the lid with teeth, the grinding chamber where the herb is broken down, a mesh screen that separates coarser and finer particles, and a separate catch chamber at the bottom (the pollen catcher) where the finest crystal powder collects. For anyone who also wants to keep that powder separately, a 4-piece grinder is more practical than a simple 2-piece model.
Use and maintenance
Put the herb in the top chamber, place the lid on and twist it a number of times until you reach the desired fineness. Then unscrew the chambers to remove the ground herb; the finest powder is found at the bottom, in the pollen catcher chamber. Clean the teeth and the mesh screen regularly with a small brush so sticky residue doesn't clog the grinder, and let the parts dry fully before putting it back together.
