The plant produces beautiful purple flowers. In English, the plant is known as Skullcap because the flowers resemble a human skull. The plant grows to a height of about 50 cm and is often found in the wild along riverbanks and in marshes.

Usage

Growing and propagationIt is best to stratify the seeds for a week before sowing. Stratify the seeds by placing them in a sealed plastic bag with slightly moistened vermiculite. Use three times as much vermiculite as seeds.

Sow the Blue Glidkruid seeds indoors. They will germinate in about two weeks. Then transplant the seedlings outdoors once the risk of night frost has passed. Space rows 30 cm apart.

Harvest Flowersand leaves can be harvested when the flowers are in full bloom. Cut with scissors, leaving about 8 cm. Use the flowers and leaves to make tea.
