CBD oil (cannabidiol) is becoming increasingly popular. It is used to treat a wide range of conditions and other physical and mental health issues. However, most people aren’t aware of how much CBD they actually need to take to improve their individual situation. And whether you’re using CBD for the first time or are already an experienced user, understanding Cannabidiol can be quite confusing. To use CBD oil responsibly and experience the full benefits of CBD, it’s important to understand the product’s composition and what the dosage means for your specific situation. That’s exactly what we’ll be discussing in this article!

Various Factors

At Dutch-Smart, we’ve written several articles about the various health benefits of CBD. However, less has been written about what the correct CBD dosage is to reap these health benefits. Of course, there’s a reason for that.

Because, to put it simply: there is no such thing as the “ideal dosage” of CBD.

The optimal dose for you as a user depends on numerous factors, including your body type, your metabolism, any CBD tolerance you may have, and the level of pain or other discomfort you’re currently experiencing. For example, CBD is likely to work completely differently for someone with a mild headache than for someone who has just broken their leg.

First of all, it’s good to know what CBD actually is and what it does in the body. CBD is a cannabinoid, a natural chemical compound found in cannabis plants that interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system. This system regulates various cognitive and physiological processes in the body, such as sleep, appetite, pain perception, and mood. In this way, CBD could help people regulate these kinds of processes, which could ultimately benefit sleep, appetite, or, for example, reduce stress. CBD is used by many thousands of people worldwide to treat symptoms such as nausea, insomnia, anxiety, stress, and chronic pain.

The ideal dosage

Now, back to the correct dosage of CBD. Because if there isn’t a single “ideal dose,” how do you know how many drops of CBD oil(or CBD in other forms, such as capsules or paste) you should take? Well, even though there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution for CBD users, there is certainly something to be said about a possible dosage. A temporary dosage, that is. Scientists agree that as our body’s physiology changes, so do the receptors in our endocannabinoid system. Are you getting older, gaining weight, or is your metabolism changing for some reason? Then there’s a good chance your CBD dosage will need to be adjusted to get the best results.

A good rule of thumb that many people follow is to dose CBD based on body weight. Generally, people with more body mass also need more CBD to experience the desired effects. In addition, the level of pain experienced is also important. Since we can’t say much about the physiological processes in our bodies, weight and the severity of symptoms are generally the factors many people consider when determining the right CBD dose.

A commonly used dosage is to take 1 mg of CBD for every 5 kilograms of body weight, but precisely because our bodies function so differently from one another, it is especially important to listen closely to your own body and adjust the dose accordingly. In our opinion, it is incredibly important to listen to your body when determining the right dose for you. To become more aware of the effects of CBD, it is helpful to keep a journal. In this journal, you can track how you feel, along with the CBD dose you took. We also recommend starting with a low dose of CBD and then gradually increasing it until the desired effects are achieved. If in doubt, always consult a doctor.
