But there’s another psychedelic in our shop—one that’s a bit less popular but certainly no less potent. We’re talking about Morning Glory—powerful seeds containing LSA, a precursor to LSD.
Morning Glory at a Glance
Morning glory has a long history of human use as a powerful psychedelic. It is one of the few naturally occurring psychedelics on Earth, and you can find it in many parts of the world. The seeds are eaten or finely ground and mixed with water to make tea; they are sometimes also smoked like marijuana or tobacco, although this method is not recommended because smoking morning glory can lead to respiratory problems.
Morning Glory is often used for spiritual purposes because people claim that their experiences while under its influence have enabled them to communicate more easily with spiritual beings such as God and Jesus Christ, who, according to them, speak directly through them while they are high on Morning Glory. The effects of this drug include euphoria, relaxation, visual distortions (things may appear brighter or blurrier),
LSA as a psychedelic
Morning glory (also known as Flying Saucers) is a plant that contains LSA, which has powerful psychedelic effects. This is because LSA is the precursor to LSD and thus shares many of the same properties. The use of Morning Glory for its powerful psychedelic effects was first documented in 1957 by James Fadiman, who studied it over a five-year period with volunteers from the Stanford University Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry in Palo Alto, California. He also conducted experiments on himself and others at Millbrook Estate during his time there with Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert.
However, it was Albert Hofmann, the discoverer of LSD, who first succeeded in isolating LSA from seeds he received from South America. Only then did it become clear that this was LSA. Until then, it was thought that only the fungus Claviceps purpurea contained LSA.
LSA is the little brother of LSD and therefore shares many of the same properties. However, LSA is significantly less potent than LSD. LSA occurs naturally in forests around the world, whereas LSD is a product of extensive laboratory work. For this reason, Morning Glory isn’t as popular as other psychedelics like magic mushrooms or truffles, but it’s still a potent drug that can provide life-changing experiences for those who use it.
How do you use Morning Glory seeds?
Simple: you eat them! On a relatively empty stomach (try not to eat for 4 to 6 hours beforehand), the first effects kick in about an hour after ingestion. The entire experience lasts between 6 and 10 hours. Nausea is common, especially during the early stages of the experience. There are two ways to minimize this nausea. You can grind the seeds and soak them in water for about half an hour, then drink the liquid. Another way is to let the seeds germinate by keeping them moist for 3 to 4 days (change the water regularly), after which the white part is removed from the shell and eaten.
You can also try eating the seeds without letting them sprout first, but this is not the most pleasant way to consume the active ingredients. A mild effect is experienced when you consume 50 to 100 seeds (or 1.5 to 3 grams), while ingesting 250 to 400 seeds (6 to 10 grams) produces a very powerful trip.
Discover the different LSA seeds
Morning glory seeds are not the only type of LSA-containing seed. There is also Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, which contains a similar but, according to many, slightly more potent form of LSA. This plant is native to India and is often used in religious ceremonies. The seeds are taken orally and can cause powerful psychedelic effects.
Another type of LSA-containing seed is Convolvulus arvensis, also known as bindweed or Field Morning Glory. This plant is found all over the world, and the seeds can be eaten or smoked. The effects are similar to those of Morning Glory seeds but are slightly more intense.
