Magic mushrooms, magic mushrooms, and even more magic mushrooms...
A quick look through our Mushroom Shop will show you that there are quite a few different types of magic mushrooms and truffles to grow. Currently, there are even more than 180 different types of fungi known to contain the so-called tryptamine alkaloids psilocybin or psilocin—the compounds that give you such a great trip. These include Psilocybe (no fewer than 117 species), Gymnopilus (13 species), Copelandia (12 species), and a handful of others.
The Psilocybe genus is by far the most common, particularly in the humid subtropical forests of Mexico and New Guinea. In Mexico alone, we find no fewer than 44 different species of this family of “trip mushrooms” —39% of all Psilocybe species in the world. So if you think the country is only known for tacos and white-sand beaches, you’re wrong. It’s undoubtedly the number one “mushroom paradise” and thus a perfect vacation destination for all the psychonauts among us!
It will therefore come as no surprise that most of the magic mushroom grow kits we sell here at Dutch-Smart are Psilocybe grow kits. That’s certainly not a bad choice, by the way: the various species within this family of fungi contain high amounts of psilocybin, and they’re also quite easy to grow. But if you’ve already tried several of these kits and are ready for something stronger, more potent, and more special, then virtually every magic mushroom enthusiast eventually turns to Copelandia Cyanescens, which, alongside Psilocybe Azurescens, is one of the strongest magic mushrooms in the world.
The unique Copelandia Hawaiian
So which mushroom are we talking about exactly? To clear up any confusion right away: you may come across Copelandia Cyanescens under a number of different names. For example, the species is also classified as Panaeolus Cyanescens, but Psilocybe Cyanescens is a completely different mushroom. In many studies, the species is abbreviated as P. cyanescens, which, as you might expect, can cause quite a bit of confusion. And then the Copelandia Cyanescens is also known as ‘Copelandia Hawaiian,’ which is how we sell it here in our smartshop.
Of course, it didn’t get this name by chance. Copelandia was likely introduced to the Hawaiian Islands in the early 1800s, although it appears to have originated in Asia. It was ultimately a group of cattle ranchers who were responsible for its migration from the Philippines to the sunny islands. And because the mushroom became so popular there, it eventually earned the nickname Copelandia Hawaiian. Before that happened, however, the species was first identified in Sri Lanka in 1871 as Agaricus Cyanescens and later as Copelandia Papilionacea in the Philippines. (Are you still following?!)

The trip of a lifetime
But enough about the name, because you probably couldn’t care less about that, right? It’s that special spiritual and extremely visual trip you’re looking for, and luckily, with Copelandia, you’re in exactly the right place! This special magic mushroom contains, on average, a significantly higher dose of psilocybin and psilocin than, for example, Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms. User reports indicate that they are experienced as up to 5 times stronger!
For a standard dose, use about 5 to 10 grams of fresh mushrooms, or about 1 to 2 grams if you opt for dried mushrooms. However, the dose isn’t the same for everyone. For example, some mushroom enthusiasts find that just two grams of dried mushrooms are already very intense, while others like to go a step further. So, what your perfect dose is depends entirely on how you react to Copelandia.
As a psychonaut, we probably don’t need to tell you much more about the effects of Copelandia Cyanescens, aside from the fact that it is simply a very potent magic mushroom. A psilocybin trip alters your sense of space and time, creates an extreme visual spectacle, and, for most people, also leaves them feeling much better about themselves afterward.
