Here at Dutch-Smart, we’ve often written about why testing your drugs is one of the best things you can do if you ever start using them. In the Netherlands, for example, you can go to the GGD or VNN to have your drugs tested. But something else is also becoming increasingly popular: testing your own drugs. Right at home in your own safe environment, without anyone needing to know that you use drugs. Meet Dope or Nope: the new drug test kits!
What is Dope or Nope?
Dope or Nope drug tests in a nutshell: they are fast and sensitive drug test kits that allow you to identify different types of drugs based on specific color changes. So you can test your own drugs at home! The wide range of drug tests is easy to use and lets you see right away if your stuff actually contains the substance it’s supposed to. By testing your drugs with the Dope or Nope drug test kits before use, you can prevent (as much as possible) potential risks and dangers. Sounds ideal, right? We thought so too! The biggest advantage of these home test kits? You know exactly where you stand right away. Unfortunately, even in 2021, many types of drugs are still being sold that don’t actually contain the substance they’re supposed to. That’s not only a waste of your money, but also very dangerous. Are you planning to use drugs? Then getting your drugs tested is really something you should do as a matter of course. The kits are incredibly easy to use, and if you have a few on hand, you don’t even have to wait for the results.
The difference with a testing service
That brings us straight to the major difference with a testing service. It’s worth noting that we’re actually quite well-organized in the Netherlands: you can drop off your drugs at such a service completely free of charge, and they’re then sent to a lab to verify whether your drugs are actually what they’re supposed to be. Such a lab is incredibly reliable, but the downside is that you often don’t get the results for another 1 or 2 weeks. There’s a chance that this won’t be in time for the party you want to use it for.
And that’s where the Dope or Nope drug test kits come in. These kits work quickly and easily and immediately indicate whether your drugs contain the active ingredient they’re supposed to. Do you see a color listed on the chart? This means the sample likely contains (some of) the substance (or its family) as indicated in the table. This doesn’t mean it’s a “pure” substance; another substance that the test doesn’t recognize may also be present. Nor does this mean the sample is “safe.” The test also does not indicate how much of the active ingredient is present.
Do you see no color reaction or a different one? Then this means you are definitely not dealing with any of the substances listed in the table. In this case, you can never say with certainty which substance is present in the sample. It could be harmless, but it could also be extremely dangerous. If this happens to you: simply throw your drugs away. It’s a waste of money, but at least you won’t be in any danger.
Stay safe
The main goal we and Dope or Nope aim to achieve with drug test kits is to make going out fun and safe again. However, it’s important to carefully read the instructions beforehand so you know exactly what to expect from the test kit. This product only provides an indication of the identity of the active ingredient(s) and therefore cannot tell you whether your ecstasy pill actually contains 100% pure ecstasy. So think carefully about your choice. And above all: stay safe!
